Linux/Unix Engineer
Position Overview
Our Global Investment Client is seeking a skilled Linux/Unix Engineer with 5-8 years of experience to join their infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Linux/Unix systems, ensuring high availability and performance in a fast-paced financial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Linux/Unix-based systems to support business operations.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.
- Collaborate with application development teams to deploy applications in Linux/Unix environments.
- Automate system administration tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Bash).
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies in compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance system performance and security.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Solaris).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Bash).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Candidates from finance domain background is preferred.
- Knowledge in Market Data solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills in Cantonese and English.
